City of Houston 2014 Summer Jobs Programs

The City of Houston is partnering with the Houston-Galveston Area Council Workforce Solutions, SER Jobs for Progress, and the Houston Urban League (HAUL) to launch the 2014 Summer Jobs Program for youth ages 16- 21. Most positions are for 32 hours per week, at $7.25 per hour.

Opportunities are available in a variety of City departments such as:

  • Health and Human Services Department
  • Department of Neighborhoods
  • Parks Community Center Recreation Assistant
  • Communications/ Graphic Art
  • Library Operations and Support
  • Public Works and Engineering Department
  • Pool Gate Attendants
  • City Council
  • Park Management Aids
  • Human Resources Department
  • Law Enforcement
  • Municipal Courts and Operations
  • Office/ Clerical
  • Solid Waste Management Department
  • Parks Planning (college student interested in urban and parks planning)
  • Information Technology Department
