Disaster Response Availability Request for Greater Houston Area

January 18, 2017

Dear Red Crossers,

Over the past 24 hours we’ve experience severe weather across the Greater Houston area. Currently we have a number of road closures, effected highways and luckily minimal structure damage. The unfortunate part of this storm is we are expecting more rain over the next 24 hours. The Houston EOC has been activated and because of this the Red Cross is on standby.

We are calling upon you to set your availability to help us manage the needs of the people potentially impacted. Currently we are looking for general disaster response availability. Just in Time Training will be available to those who have not been through formal training.

If you are interested and available to volunteer please sign up for the shifts. While the shifts are listed as 12 hours – we may consider shifts as short as 4 hours depending on the need.

To sign up to be on standby, please reply to this email with which day(s) you are available or log in to Volunteer Connection -> My Shifts -> Disaster Response Availability.

We are looking for availability through Saturday January 21st, 2016.

This is just an availability request and we will be in contact with you whether or not we stand up an operation. If you have general availability for this evening please indicate in the notes for the shifts you sign up for or send an email back today with you availability for this evening.

Thanks for all that you do!

At this time of year, we receive inquiries regarding your annual assessment statement and when payment is due. Typically, the assessment statements are mailed out immediately after the District's last board meeting of the year.

In order to avoid penalty and interest (which accrues on February 1st), your annual assessment payment must be postmarked by January 31st.

Payments should be made payable to the District and mailed to:
Equi-Tax Inc.
Tax Assessor/Collector
P. O. Box 73109
Houston, TX 77273

Please do NOT mail or deliver assessment payments to the management district office.
