February is the month of love around the world, with Valentine’s Day just right around the corner. It’s also the Lunar New Year. Those who observe will be celebrating the upcoming Year of the Dog! We have rounded up three ways for you to get out and celebrate the various holidays and observances around Brays Oaks in our list below. Check it out!
Celebrate National Dental Month with ABC Dental at their health fair on February 10th. Free screenings will be available for dental, glucose, vision, immunizations, blood pressure and more! Bring shot records for children to receive free immunizations, and if you haven’t already, get your flu shot on-site. Once all the health examinations are over, head to one of the bouncy houses with the kids, and enjoy balloons, animals, and pictures with Disney characters to mark the occasion.
Reserve your spot now at Larry Green’s Valentine’s Day in District K Luncheon. This annual event will take place at the Red Rooster (1334 Alameda Road), and attendees are asked to dress in “Valentine’s Day Red Attire.” The luncheon is sponsored in part by the Brays Oaks Management District, and we look forward to seeing you there!
The Chinese Community Center is hosting their annual Lunar New Year’s Festival! This year is the Year of the Dog. Join the CCC for dragon and lion dances, over twenty unique cultural performances from South Korea, Vietnam, India, and China. There will also be an East West Bank Marketplace with arts and crafts from all over the world celebrating the holiday, as well as a raffle and plenty of workshops on lantern making, calligraphy, and other cultural activities. You don’t want to miss this chance to participate in ringing in the New Year.
