Thankful for District K

Thank you District K! I am still this excited about the opportunity to represent such an incredible district. As much as I love campaigning and talking to residents, it felt good to wake up unopposed today. I must thank my staff for their dedicated efforts every day. I could not do the work of our constituents without each of them. We have four more years to deliver exceptional service and continue to improve our community. Let’s make historic moves together.

Honoring Our Veterans

Ready to honor our heroes? Mayor Sylvester Turner and the Office of Veterans and Military Affairs invite you to Veterans Day 2023! Join us downtown on Saturday, November 11, at 10 a.m. for a heartwarming celebration and the American Heroes parade.

Houston takes pride in being the home of over 300,000 veterans and their families. Let’s come together as a community, express our gratitude, and show support for our veterans.

Continued Solid Waste Services on
Veterans Day

The City of Houston Solid Waste Management Department will continue collections services Veterans Day, Friday, November 10, 2023. There will be NO INTERRUPTION of services!

The Solid Waste Management Department drop-off facilities and administrative offices will be closed Veterans Day. Drop-off facilities will resume normal hours of operations Saturday, November 11, 2023.
