Shred Days in District K!

Let’s start the new year off shredding unwanted documents and making space for new business. It’s important that we properly dispose of documents to protect our privacy and to maintain adequate security when handling sensitive information. Did you know shredding documents also makes recycling easier?

As we begin 2024 make sure you box up those documents to bring to one of 3 District K Shred Day locations.

January 20th from 9am to 12 noon we will be at New Faith Church and Westbury United Methodist Church. New Faith Church location will accept paper and Westbury United Methodist Church will accept paper and small electronics.

January 27th from 9am to 12 noon we will be in Fort Bend Houston at Ridgemont Clubhouse accepting paper.

Mark your calendars and let’s start 2024 without all those piles of paper!

As part of the safe playground program, the playground at Windsor Village was removed on December 21, 2023 and the replacement date is yet to be determined. We are working with the Parks Department to ensure a fun and quality playground will be returned to the park soon.

There is Still Time to Recycle Those Lights!

As you are taking down your holiday decorations this month, don’t forget you can recycle your old or inoperable holiday lights and extension cords. Brandi Harleaux of South Post Oak Recycling Center and I enjoyed talking about our community holiday lights recycling program on CW39 with Sharron Melton. Bring your recyclables to 14600 S Post Rd, Houston, TX 77045 in District K.

Townwood Park Gets Speed Deterrents

Mayor Pro Tem allocated dollars from our Council District Service Funds (CDSF) for the installation of speed deterrents at Townwood Park. We’re aiming to curb those wild spin outs and speedy rides! The Houston Parks and Recreation Department (HPARD) was scheduled to start the installation on January 8, 2024, and if the weather plays nice, should be wrapped up in a few days.
