We’re excited to share that our Annual District K Drive-Thru Turkey Gift-Away for Seniors is back on Thursday, December 18, 2025, and we can’t wait to spread a little extra joy this season! Expect holiday cheer, warm smiles, and a fun, festive drive-thru experience.

If you or a senior you know would like to receive a holiday turkey, be sure to register by December 12 by emailing [email protected] or calling 832-393-3016.

Houston’s Joint Runoff Election is coming up on Saturday, December 13, and this one is all about the at-large council seat, a position that represents the entire city. These roles shape policy, budget decisions, and big-picture priorities for Houston, so your vote truly makes a difference.

Here’s what you need to know to get ready:

📅 Early Voting:

  • Mon, Dec 1 – Sat, Dec 6: 7 AM – 7 PM
  • Sun, Dec 7: 12 PM – 7 PM
  • Mon, Dec 8 – Tues, Dec 9: 7 AM – 7 PM

🗳️ Election Day: Saturday, Dec 13 | 7 AM – 7 PM

What’s on the Ballot?

  • City of Houston — At-Large Council Member, Position #4
  • Houston Community College — Trustee, District #2

✔ Bring a printed sample ballot or notes
✔ Bring one of the 7 approved IDs
✔ Find your nearest voting center. 30 locations are open for early voting and 150 on Election Day

You’re invited to “The Miracle of Giving,” a beautiful afternoon dedicated to hope, love, and lifting up families in our community. District K is honored to partner with New Faith Church and Rostros Magazine for this special celebration on Friday, December 13, from 3 PM to 8 PM at 4315 West Fuqua St.

This magical event will include a toy giveaway, music, a Christmas bazaar, and festive activities for children, plus a special highlight:

A cover reveal with Mayor Pro Tem Martha Castex-Tatum, celebrating stories that uplift and inspire.
