πŸŽ„ Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays, District K!πŸŽ„

As we celebrate this special season, I want to wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a joyful holiday season filled with peace, warmth, and hope.

This time of year reminds us of the power of community β€” of checking on one another, sharing what we have, and coming together in kindness and compassion. Across District K, I’ve seen neighbors step up, lend a hand, and lift one another in meaningful ways, and for that, I am truly grateful.

Whether you are celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or simply enjoying time with family and friends, may this season bring you moments of reflection, gratitude, and joy.

From my family to yours, thank you for allowing me the honor of serving as your Councilmember and Mayor Pro Tem. I look forward to continuing the work ahead together in the new year.

Wishing you a safe, happy, and blessed holiday season and a bright start to the year ahead. πŸ’š

In service,

Martha

πŸ¦ƒπŸ’š District K Showing Up for Our Seniors πŸ’šπŸ¦ƒ

What an incredible day of service and community. Our Annual District K Drive-Thru Turkey Gift Away for Seniors was a huge success, with 400 turkeys distributed to help our seniors enjoy a warm and joyful holiday meal.

The photos above offer just a glimpse into how special the day truly was, from the smiles and warm greetings to the teamwork that made everything flow smoothly. This event is about more than turkeys. It is about showing up, honoring our seniors, and making sure they feel supported during the holidays.

We are deeply grateful to our generous sponsors who made this possible:

Houston Hospitality Alliance, NRG, United, the City of Houston, Lemond Kitchen, CenterPoint Energy, Donald Aaron & Lee Barnes, Union Pacific, Fountain of Praise, New Faith Church, Plentiful Harvest, Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, Inc., 5 Corners District, and the Brays Oaks Management District.

Special thanks as well to the District K staff, and our incredible volunteers from the Houston Hospitality Alliance, New Faith Volunteer Ministry, Fountain of Praise Church, District K interns, and our college volunteers who brought the holiday spirit and helped everything run smoothly.

Together, we continue to show what is possible when a community comes together with heart and purpose. πŸ’š
