Dear District K Neighbors: As we welcome the summer season, I hope you and your loved ones are enjoying all that makes our community so special, whether spending time outdoors or attending neighborhood events to connecting with friends and family. Summer is also an important time to prepare for the unexpected while continuing to stay engaged with the many opportunities happening throughout District K. With hurricane season now underway, I encourage every household to take a few moments to review your emergency plans, update your disaster supply kits, and stay informed through trusted City resources. Being prepared today helps keep our families and neighborhoods safer tomorrow. This month, we're also excited to bring our community together through our District K Fan Fest, where neighbors of all ages can enjoy family-friendly activities, celebrate the spirit of Houston, and connect with local organizations and resources. In addition, you'll find updates on our continued efforts to improve neighborhood infrastructure, support cleaner and safer communities, and address quality-of-life concerns across the district. As always, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve you. Your partnership, engagement, and commitment to our community continue to make District K stronger every day. I look forward to seeing you throughout the district this summer. In Service, Martha |
| | Rehabilitation of Water Storage Tanks Package 14 Update |
 |
Investing in Reliable Water Infrastructure Houston Public Works continues making important investments to strengthen our city's infrastructure through the Rehabilitation of Water Storage Tanks – Package 14 project. This multi-year initiative will rehabilitate six elevated water storage tanks and two groundwater storage tanks to help ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient water system for our growing community. These improvements will enhance drinking water quality, support compliance with state regulations, improve system reliability during emergencies and periods of high demand, and reduce long-term maintenance costs. Construction is progressing as planned, with work continuing at the Park Ten West site and overall project completion anticipated by Spring 2027. Why It Matters: Investing in essential infrastructure today helps ensure safe drinking water, strengthens our city's resilience during emergencies, and supports the long-term needs of District K and communities across Houston.
