All-Ages festival brings music, heritage, and Celtic folklore together along with the Fine Arts Institute, The Irish Network, Houston Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Organizers, The Houston School for Irish Music, and the Irish Consulate.

Drop Of The Creator Spirits Co., a woman-owned business making premium gin, whiskey and vodka, today announced its first Houston Samhain Celebration, October 31st from 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm, in its distillery, tasting room and bar at 10929 Chimney Rock Road in Houston.

With roots in the ancient Celtic traditions of Ireland, Scotland and Wales, Samhain, pronounced SOW-in, traditionally marks the end of harvest season and the beginning of the year’s cycle. As a pillar of what has become modern-day Halloween, Samhain is the Celtic Day of the Dead – when the veil between the living and the dead is at its thinnest – serving as a celebration of the cycle of life and death.

Drop of the Creator is hosting their first Houston Samhain Festival with support from the Fine Arts Institute, the Irish Network, the Houston Saint Patrick’s Day Parade organizers, the Houston School of Irish Music and the Irish Consulate. Activities include traditional turnip & pumpkin carving, storytelling, and more. Live music will be provided by Godfrey’s Rangers, The Other Crowd, and Houston School of Irish Music. A children’s costume contest takes place at 6:00 pm, while adults compete at 8:00 pm. Various prizes will be awarded.

Known for top-of-the-line spirits made on-site, Drop of the Creator offers a wide variety of gin, vodka, whiskey and tequila-based cocktails as well as beers and wines.

“We are incredibly proud to host our first Samhain Celebration, bringing the community together to honor tradition, history, and the changing of the seasons. Through this historic gathering, we invite everyone to celebrate the magic of the harvest, connect with ancestral roots, enjoy Irish music and share an exceptional spirit in the heart of Texas,” said Lori Murphy, Owner of Drop Of The Creator.

Drop Of The Creator opened in April of 2025 with large support from the Westbury/Meyerland community. It’s known for creating space for the community and their patrons to be part of a unique experience. The tasting room features unique cocktails made with their carefully crafted spirits and bottles that can be purchased. Known for community-supporting initiatives and creating a welcoming space where Houstonians can connect, Drop Of The Creator has hosted unique events such as book and writers’ clubs, Art Of The Cocktail Classes, Dungeons & Dragons tournaments, Sip & Knit, and themed brunches. The business also supports Houston organizations such as the Orange Show and local live musicians.

Continuing its support for community roots, the Samhain Celebrations brings Celtic folklore customs to Houston, sharing Irish heritage and observing the original Halloween traditions through music.

“Craythur is Irish for both whiskey and creature, something that is created and has spirit. We changed it to Drop of the Creator as a nod to our architect backgrounds and our love of making things,” adds Murphy.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, please visit: www.DropOfTheCreator.com
