Beautification & Urban Design Committee Meeting

The Beautification & Urban Design Committee meets the first Thursday of the month at 2:00 PM via Zoom.

Beautification & Urban Design provides the foundation for improving how the District looks and works. The District is committed to making the area cleaner and greener through litter abatement, conservation programs, and improved streetscapes and park facilities. Each of these elements adds to a “sense of place” and identity.

Enhanced Landscaping

The District provides landscaping and maintenance of esplanades adopted through the City of Houston’s Adopt an Esplanade Initiative. These enhanced esplanades help to keep the Brays Oaks area more attractive to current and potential businesses and the communities that surround them.

Litter Abatement

SMC Logistics provides the Brays Oaks Management District with regular, routine removal of “Bandit Signs” (those little homemade signs that adorn intersections throughout the city) and general litter that clutters intersections and detracts from the aesthetic appearance of a well-maintained neighborhood.
